Reborn to Love Mr. Right – Episode 45

Evelyn requested a face-to-face meeting with Hayden, Arianna, and prosecutors. She refused to describe the final instruction over a recorded line, claiming Victor had designed it to activate if she spoke certain words through monitored equipment.

Hayden suspected another attempt to control him. Evelyn had used family secrets as currency since returning, revealing each truth only when it purchased attention or leniency. Yet the incomplete photograph made ignoring her dangerous.

Inside the interview room, Evelyn placed both hands on the table where cameras could see them. She explained that Victor’s unnumbered order did not command her to kill Ivy. It ordered her to ensure Ivy survived long enough to connect the archive.

The claim contradicted every previous attack. Evelyn said Victor needed future Ivy to create the warning packets because those packets delivered Derek’s memories and the first photograph. If present Ivy died too early, the loop that gave Victor future knowledge might collapse.

His real instruction was more precise: protect Ivy until the testimony, then make her disappear without proof of death. The blurred figure represented a witness removed from public life, not necessarily murdered.

Arianna asked how Evelyn intended to obey from custody. Evelyn had arranged an identity package, offshore account, and private aircraft months earlier. After the hearing, an associate would offer Ivy a choice between permanent disappearance and another attack on her mother.

“You built the threat and called it a choice,” Hayden said. Evelyn accepted the accusation. She claimed she had delayed activation after realizing Victor would never release his hold over the Scott family.

Prosecutors demanded the associate’s name. Evelyn identified her former pilot and gave them the private airfield code. A plane had filed a midnight departure under a humanitarian charter.

Ivy’s protection team reported her missing before the interview ended. Her mother remained safe, but a guard found a note saying Ivy had left voluntarily to end the attacks. The language echoed Victor’s offer rather than Ivy’s usual voice.

Traffic cameras located a sedan entering the airfield. Ivy sat in the passenger seat without visible restraints. Beside her, Evelyn’s pilot held a phone displaying live footage of her mother’s protected room.

Police could storm the runway, but the phone appeared connected to an unknown device near Ivy’s mother. The pilot threatened to activate it if anyone approached before takeoff. Another manufactured choice placed two lives on opposite ends of a signal.

Hayden’s team traced the video and discovered it was delayed by seven minutes. The mother’s room shown on-screen had already been evacuated after a routine security rotation. The threat possessed no current target.

Arianna called Ivy directly. The pilot answered and repeated the offer: let the witness vanish, and everyone else would remain safe. Arianna asked to speak with Ivy before accepting.

Ivy took the phone. Arianna told her the video was delayed and her mother had moved. She did not order Ivy to fight or wait for rescue. “Whatever you do next,” she said, “make it your decision, not the shape he built around you.”

Ivy dropped the phone and pulled the parking brake as the plane began taxiing. The sudden turn threw the pilot against the cabin wall. She opened the emergency door and jumped onto the grass before he regained control.

Police vehicles crossed the runway. The pilot attempted takeoff without her, but ground officers deployed a barrier that damaged the landing gear. The aircraft stopped short of the fence, and he surrendered.

Inside his flight bag, investigators found new passports for Ivy and her mother, cash from Evelyn’s shell accounts, and instructions written by Victor. The plan would have erased Ivy so completely that future records could not distinguish survival from death.

Evelyn signed a full confession after learning the pilot failed. Her cooperation could reduce her sentence, but it also added charges for conspiracy and coercion. For once, revealing the truth did not purchase freedom from its consequences.

The future photograph finally cleared. Older Ivy stood beside Arianna and Hayden on the mansion steps, the scar absent from her throat. The three of them looked connected by survival rather than friendship.

As Arianna studied the completed image, a date appeared in its lower corner. It was not years in the future. It was the following day, and the Taylor mansion behind them was burning.
