Reborn to Love Mr. Right – Episode 40

The final video confirmed what the photographs could not. Future Ivy and Hayden had created the warning packets after Arianna’s death, using the archive to send evidence toward the moment her regret carried her backward. Victor had found them before they completed the transfer.

Arianna replayed Hayden’s message without sound. The older man on the screen had devoted years to saving someone he believed gone forever. The Hayden beside her watched too, confronting a future version of his grief that no longer had to exist. Neither looked away when the recording reached the moment before the gunshot.

“You already saved me,” Arianna told him. “Not because of the archive. You did it when you believed me and let me choose.” He answered that she had saved herself long before he understood what the future demanded.

Current Ivy focused on the gunshot. The video did not show whether her older self survived, but the scar across her throat proved she had escaped at least one earlier attack. Every packet she sent had carried knowledge purchased through repeated danger.

The authenticated file included a written statement from future Ivy. After Derek went to prison, she gave Hayden the cloud copy of Arianna’s death. Together they traced Victor’s network and discovered the buried archive beneath Maple Valley High.

Hayden funded years of research without knowing whether messages could cross time. The first successful packet vanished from their system on the anniversary of Arianna’s death. At that same instant in the past, Derek collapsed outside the gala with a photograph in his pocket.

The packet had divided. Arianna received memory and a second life; Derek received memory later when the altered timeline threatened his victory. Victor obtained the physical photograph because his past network intercepted the archive’s relay.

Future Ivy had then sent targeted warnings, selecting moments when deaths or irreversible losses would restore Victor’s preferred outcome. The archive showed possibilities, but she chose which evidence crossed. She was Witness-I.R. Her initials had been visible all along, disguised by the assumption that Witness must be an enemy.

Her statement apologized for manipulating Arianna through fear. Limited bandwidth prevented explanations, and every added sentence changed the futures she could observe. She had used photographs because images survived the connection more reliably than language.

Donald read the statement from his hospital bed. He noted that future Ivy never claimed the archive controlled fate. Human choices created each branch, while the machine only allowed one survivor to send warnings against the current.

The explanation freed Arianna from the belief that saving one person condemned another. The black ribbons represented outcomes future Ivy wanted her to prevent, not a cosmic demand for sacrifice. Love was not balancing a debt between bodies.

Police used the Final Packet carefully. Impossible future evidence remained outside court filings, but its present-day references led to financial accounts, recordings, and living witnesses. Victor’s network could now be prosecuted without asking a jury to believe in rebirth. The truth no longer depended on the most unbelievable part of their lives.

Derek learned the archive had been erased during another monitored interview. The news stripped away the certainty that had sustained him. His future memories continued fading as each predicted event failed to occur.

He asked Arianna whether she remembered loving him. She answered honestly that she remembered loving the person she imagined, not the man who exploited that faith. Her second life did not exist to restore his importance.

Derek promised she would regret leaving him when Hayden eventually chose Scott Global. Arianna recognized the threat as the last version of his oldest lie: everyone else would abandon her, so she must accept whatever he offered.

“I would rather survive disappointment than surrender my life to avoid it,” she said. She left the interview without waiting for his reply, and the reinforced door closed on the future he could no longer command.

At Maple Valley High, workers removed the underground servers under federal supervision. The gym floor would be rebuilt before graduation, this time without a hidden room beneath the service line. Emmy insisted Arianna’s first serve on the restored court should be aimed nowhere near her face.

Ivy chose to transfer schools after completing her testimony. She did not ask to become Arianna’s friend, and Arianna did not offer an easy absolution. They parted with an understanding that changing direction mattered even when it could not erase the road behind them.

Hayden met Arianna outside the gym as evening settled over the campus. With the archive gone, neither possessed a photograph of their wedding or proof of who would occupy its chairs. The uncertainty felt less frightening than any promised future built by someone else.

Arianna’s phone chimed once inside her pocket. The deleted cloud account had restored a single image: an older Arianna and Hayden stood together before the Taylor mansion, alive and smiling, while one space beside them remained blurred. Beneath it, future Ivy had written, “You saved this timeline. Now save the witness.”
