Hillbilly Girlie Marries a Billionaire – Episode 32

Emily followed Sophie’s gaze, but the ambulance attendant turned away before she saw his face. Police filled the loading bay, checking identification and escorting the captives into separate vehicles. In the confusion, the unfamiliar attendant disappeared among genuine emergency staff.

Sophie refused to explain what frightened her. She insisted on speaking only after a lawyer arrived and requested protection from the clinic technician’s partners. The cooperation she promised inside the warehouse began retreating behind self-preservation.

Lucas ordered Adam to verify every medic and officer present. One ambulance had entered using copied credentials and left without a patient. Security footage showed the false attendant placing a phone inside Sophie’s blanket before vanishing.

Police recovered the device. Its only message instructed Sophie to remain silent or Emily’s mother would suffer. Emily called the hospital immediately. Her mother’s nurse reported that Mrs. Davis had left for scheduled imaging twenty minutes earlier and never arrived.

The hospital locked down, but her wheelchair was found beside a service elevator. A camera recorded a man in scrubs pushing her into the parking garage. The same false attendant walked beside them.

Emily’s relief from the warehouse rescue turned to ice. The kidnappers had used Sophie as bait while preparing a second hostage. Her mother was still recovering and could not endure prolonged stress, much less violence.

Lucas promised they would find her. Emily believed his determination, but certainty could not erase the image of her mother frightened and alone. She blamed herself for bringing Anderson enemies to the hospital.

Lucas rejected the blame. The criminal network had chosen violence, just as Kevin and Sophie had chosen betrayal. Emily’s love for her mother did not make her responsible for people who exploited it.

The phone rang inside Sophie’s blanket. The caller demanded the return of the technician and access codes in exchange for Mrs. Davis. Police answered through a negotiator, but the masked voice asked for Emily by name.

Emily took the call. A woman spoke this time, her voice digitally altered. She ordered Emily to visit an old roadside motel outside the city and warned that police surveillance would end her mother’s life.

Sophie reacted before anyone else. She said the motel belonged to a shell company once used by her family. Her father had sold it, but one former employee still managed the property. The information suggested her own contacts had joined the clinic scheme.

Lucas demanded the manager’s name. Sophie hesitated, then identified him as Grant, a fixer she had previously paid to follow Emily. She claimed she never authorized a kidnapping.

Emily heard the careful limitation. Sophie might not have ordered her mother taken today, but she had once employed the man capable of doing it. The rescue did not erase everything that led them there.

Noah found financial transfers from Sophie to Grant during the weeks before the paternity fraud collapsed. Sophie called them surveillance expenses. Lucas asked what Grant had been instructed to do if the pregnancy plan failed.

Sophie said nothing. Her silence became an answer. Victoria, listening from the edge of the room, understood that the violence she once dismissed as intimidation had grown from the same permission she gave Sophie.

Police planned a controlled approach to the motel. Emily would not enter, regardless of the caller’s demand. A decoy vehicle would approach while tactical officers secured the surrounding woods.

The plan failed before it began. A live video showed Mrs. Davis tied to a chair, oxygen tubing removed from beneath her nose. Grant stood behind her with a countdown clock set to thirty minutes.

He demanded Emily arrive without Lucas. If he detected police, he would abandon Mrs. Davis somewhere she could not survive until morning. The feed showed no windows or identifiable background.

Emily noticed a hand-painted sunflower on the wall behind her mother. She had seen it during childhood bus rides: the motel’s abandoned daycare building stood half a mile from the main office, hidden beyond a line of trees.

Lucas sent the location to police, but Emily had already taken the car keys from the table. She looked at him and said there was no time to argue. Then Sophie rose from the hospital bed and offered to go with her—because Grant would trust the woman who had hired him more than he would ever trust Emily.
