I’m In Love With My Brother’s Best Friend?! – Episode 45
Cole crossed the bathroom and tore Amber’s hand away from Kaitlyn. He demanded to know what she thought she was doing. Amber recoiled beneath the anger in his voice.
He had warned her never to harm Kaitlyn again. This time there would be proof of the attack and consequences she could not dismiss.
Cole checked Kaitlyn first. She assured him she was all right now that he had arrived. Gratitude complicated the anger she still carried from their argument.
He reminded her he would always protect her, even when she insisted she did not need him. Kaitlyn wanted love, not permanent rescue, but the promise still mattered.
Amber called for Cole to help her. He ignored the demand and photographed the scene she had created—the marker, the struggle, and her position over Kaitlyn.
He warned that another attempt to hurt Kaitlyn would send the photograph to everyone with a university email address. Amber understood the social destruction such evidence could cause.
Cole led Kaitlyn toward the exit. Amber screamed that he was supposed to be on her side, clinging to a relationship that had ended months earlier.
She told Kaitlyn that no humiliation could equal claiming Cole loved her when he merely slept with her. The accusation struck the exact wound Kaitlyn carried.
Kaitlyn stopped. She asked whether Amber truly believed they were only sleeping together. Cole recognized the challenge in her voice.
Amber laughed. If Cole had genuine feelings, he would show them publicly rather than hide behind Ryan and locked doors.
Kaitlyn looked at Cole. This was the decision he had postponed throughout the party. Words spoken privately would no longer be enough.
Cole crossed back to her and kissed her in full view of Amber and the guests gathering outside. The kiss contained no excuse, no rescue, and no denial.
Kaitlyn responded, letting the public gesture answer Amber. Cole’s hands settled at her waist as if hiding had never been an option.
The watching crowd erupted in whispers. News would reach every corner of campus—and perhaps Ryan within minutes.
Amber stared in disbelief. Her final weapon had forced Cole to demonstrate the very feeling she denied.
Kaitlyn pulled back and searched his face. Cole was done allowing fear to make her feel unwanted.
Then Ryan’s voice cut through the crowd. He ordered Cole to get away from his little sister.
Cole released Kaitlyn and turned. Ryan stood in the doorway, shock becoming rage as he understood what he had witnessed.
He demanded to know whether this was how best friends behaved. The trust Cole had feared losing shattered in Ryan’s expression.
Kaitlyn tried to explain, but Ryan saw only his closest friend kissing the sister he had entrusted to him. Before either could stop him, he struck Cole.
