I’m In Love With My Brother’s Best Friend?! – Episode 44
Amber asked what a little freshman was doing at an upperclassman party. Kaitlyn replied that she had been invited. The answer only sharpened Amber’s jealousy.
She assumed Cole had brought her and mocked the idea that he genuinely liked her. According to Amber, he tolerated Kaitlyn only because Ryan was his best friend.
Kaitlyn refused to let another lie stand. Cole had told her everything about Amber’s cheating and the rumors she spread afterward.
She named Amber for what she was: a bitter ex who punished Cole because he would not forgive betrayal. Amber’s polished confidence cracked.
Amber boasted that at least men wanted her. Kaitlyn, she said, remained the undesirable virgin no one would touch.
Kaitlyn answered with the truth most likely to wound her. She and Cole had slept together.
More than that, Cole had told her she was the only woman for whom he had ever felt something real. The information struck Amber harder than any physical blow.
Amber called her a degrading name and demanded to know how she dared touch “her” man. Kaitlyn reminded her Cole no longer belonged to her.
Amber asked whether he belonged to Kaitlyn instead. She pointed out that Cole was nowhere in the bathroom to defend the claim.
The accusation found Kaitlyn’s current fear. Cole had called her his girlfriend at school but still had not told Ryan. Private commitment remained painfully invisible.
Amber decided Kaitlyn needed a lesson in respecting her elders. Her voice carried the same entitlement that had defined every campus bully Kaitlyn faced.
Kaitlyn ordered her to move away from the door. Amber refused and grabbed her arm.
The struggle drove Kaitlyn against the counter. She fought to free herself without giving Amber another photograph that could be twisted.
Amber announced that everyone at the party should know Kaitlyn stole other women’s men. She intended to brand the accusation onto her body.
Kaitlyn saw a cosmetic marker in Amber’s hand and understood the threat. Humiliation, not injury, was the goal.
She shouted for Amber to release her. Music from the party swallowed most of the sound.
Amber forced her toward the mirror. Kaitlyn resisted, knocking items across the floor. The crash finally carried beyond the bathroom.
Cole heard it from the hallway. Kaitlyn had insisted she did not need him, but instinct sent him toward the locked door.
Inside, Amber raised the marker toward Kaitlyn’s face. She promised that everyone would see the truth about the freshman who stole Cole Hart.
The door burst open before the marker touched her. Cole stood in the entrance, fury erasing every trace of hesitation. Amber had ignored his final warning.
