I Have Five Kick-Ass Brothers – Episode 52
Grace did not resist when officers entered the jet. She raised her empty hands and asked whether Raina would finally speak to the woman who first carried her from the Lincoln nursery. The claim reached Raina through the operations-room feed.
Joshua warned that Grace wanted control of the encounter. Raina agreed to a recorded interview at the airport station, separated by reinforced glass and accompanied by counsel. She would hear the truth without giving Grace the private stage she expected.
Grace admitted changing the wristbands under Walter’s direction. He paid her to create a temporary confusion while he moved financial records through the hospital. She claimed she did not know the infants would leave with the wrong families permanently.
Raina asked why Grace falsified reports for years if the original act had been a misunderstanding. Grace answered that one crime creates witnesses, and witnesses learn to survive by becoming useful to whoever holds power.
She helped Walter, then Victor, Melody, and Zoey preserve portions of the deception. Each believed Grace belonged to them. In reality, she stored copies of everything and waited for the families to pay for silence.
The false flight was her final insurance. If authorities captured Zoey, Grace intended to leave with two convincing substitutes while the real couple faced suspicion. Once abroad, she could sell staged statements to the highest bidder.
Theo asked why Grace used actors instead of escaping alone. She replied that nobody buys a secret without proof of control. Delivering the apparent Lincoln heiress and Jones heir would have made her valuable to corporate rivals.
Raina refused to let Grace turn cruelty into cleverness. Two innocent actors had nearly crossed borders under stolen identities, and their lives could have been destroyed. Grace’s strategy depended on treating everyone as replaceable.
Investigators presented the old hospital photograph showing the bassinets. Grace confirmed Walter took it after the labels were switched. She also identified a third person reflected in the nursery glass: Victor, years before he officially joined the Lincoln search.
The evidence completed the chain. Walter designed the revenge, Grace altered the medical system, and Victor preserved the lie after recognizing its value. Later conspirators inherited a structure already built for manipulation.
Grace offered access to an offshore archive in exchange for immunity. Prosecutors refused immunity but considered reduced charges for complete cooperation. Raina did not participate in the bargain; justice could not depend on what punishment satisfied her emotionally.
The archive contained unaltered birth records, payments, and communications reaching back twenty years. It also held files on other infants whose identities Grace had changed for wealthy clients.
The scope transformed the investigation. Raina and Coco were not isolated victims but two names within a hidden market. Hospitals in three states began reviewing historical records.
The identity-security foundation prepared to assist affected families. Raina insisted the work remain confidential until each person chose whether to learn the findings. Truth imposed without consent could become another form of harm.
Maya and Paul were released after investigators confirmed they had been deceived. Henry arranged legitimate representation for both but avoided turning their experience into publicity. They needed restored careers, not another spectacle.
The private jet remained grounded as evidence. Inside the luggage compartment, officers found suitcases packed with clothing in Raina’s size and a wedding dress tailored to her measurements.
A forged itinerary scheduled a ceremony in Bellmare the day after arrival. The false couple would announce a marriage, then transfer joint authority over selected Lincoln and Jones assets to a “family adviser.”
The adviser named in the documents was Grace Davenport. Her plan had been less subtle than Victor’s, but the legal confusion could have lasted long enough to move millions.
Theo watched Raina examine the dress through an evidence bag. He assured her their real wedding would contain nothing chosen by criminals, including timing, location, or clothes.
Grace laughed from the interview room and said there might never be a wedding. According to the offshore archive, Theo’s father had signed a contract years ago promising his heir to another family.
