I’m In Love With My Brother’s Best Friend?! – Episode 18
Kaitlyn stood before Cole with her fingers resting against his shirt. The deleted photograph had been stolen from her; what happened now belonged to her choice. That distinction gave her courage even as her pulse raced.
Cole caught her wrist gently and reminded her they could stop. Kaitlyn asked whether he wanted her to. His silence answered before his mouth could form another responsible lie.
“I need you,” she admitted. The words stripped away their games and bargains. Cole closed his eyes briefly, then confessed that he needed her too.
He kissed her with weeks of restraint behind it. Kaitlyn rose into him, feeling the careful man and the desperate one struggle inside every touch. For once, desire won without destroying gentleness.
Cole confessed that the skirt she wore in class had tormented him from the moment she entered. Kaitlyn accused him of embarrassing her because he could not control his reaction. His guilty expression confirmed more than his denial.
She reminded him that Professor Calloway had made her stand before everyone. Cole argued that he had not chosen the exercise. Calling her perfect, however, had been entirely his mistake—and entirely sincere.
Kaitlyn asked what he wanted to do now. The challenge repeated the one she had given him before the freshman party, but she no longer needed to wonder whether he found her attractive. Cole’s gaze moved over her with unmistakable hunger.
He drew her closer, then paused again. Every hesitation gave her the chance to change her mind. Each time she answered by touching him, kissing him, or guiding his hands.
That patience mattered more than Cole knew. Brent had treated her boundaries as insults and her virginity as a debt. Cole treated each yes as something freely given rather than permanently owed.
The intimacy deepened. Kaitlyn felt years of fantasy become immediate and real—the warmth of his skin, the roughness of his breath, and the vulnerability beneath his control. Cole Hart was not untouchable with her.
He murmured that Ryan would kill them both. Kaitlyn said she believed Cole could take him. The joke made him laugh against her mouth, though neither mistook the obstacle for something trivial.
Ryan’s trust mattered, but Kaitlyn refused to let her brother possess her decisions. She was eighteen and responsible for her own choices. Loving Cole had begun long before anyone thought to forbid it.
Cole’s hand traced her back, and she shivered. He immediately asked if she was all right. The question grounded her inside the intensity.
Kaitlyn assured him she had never felt safer. Even so, they were approaching an experience entirely new to her. The secret she needed to share came abruptly to mind.
She tried to continue, hoping courage might make explanation unnecessary. Cole sensed the change in her body and slowed. He asked what was wrong.
Kaitlyn said there was something he should know. Concern replaced desire in his expression, but he did not step away. He promised that nothing she said would make him want her less.
The promise was exactly what she needed and exactly what she feared testing. Brent’s insults had taught her to treat inexperience as failure. Amber’s contempt had reinforced the same wound.
Cole waited without pressuring her, his thumb moving gently across her hand. The tenderness gave her the courage that heat alone could not.
Kaitlyn drew a breath and looked directly into his eyes. She wanted him to understand that the confession did not revoke consent or reduce her desire. It was information he deserved before they went farther.
“Cole, I’m a virgin,” she said. The admission stopped the room. His hands went still, and the sudden change in his face made Kaitlyn fear the promise he had just given was already breaking.
