The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband – Episode 59
Sebastian’s first instinct was refusal. Cassie had drugged him, staged evidence, and tried to weaponize Natalie’s trust. No apology could make her presence harmless by default.
Natalie did not decide for him. “Do you want her here?”
Cassie remained at the threshold. “I won’t stay if the answer is no. I brought this because it should be with Stephanie’s foundation, not evidence storage.”
The certificate represented money stolen, history erased, and the first small piece of the empire Sebastian rebuilt. He looked at Stephanie’s name, then at the woman whose selfishness accidentally placed Natalie in his life.
“You may sit in the back,” he said. “Today is not your absolution.”
Cassie accepted the boundary and joined George in the final pew. Father and daughter sat without Lauren, stripped of the status that once defined their family.
The minister resumed. Sebastian placed the ring on Natalie’s finger, the same ring she had left behind and later reclaimed by choice.
Natalie placed his ring and held his hand firmly. There would be no pretend affection for an audience and no contract waiting to expire.
They were pronounced husband and wife again. This kiss carried memory of every version that came before: the cautious altar contact, the penthouse confession they postponed, and the desperate reunion neither wealth nor scandal could guarantee.
Applause filled the church. Natalie’s mother cried openly, while Daniel pretended to inspect the ceiling until Sarah handed him a tissue.
Outside, reporters waited behind a security boundary Natalie had approved. She and Sebastian agreed to provide one statement together rather than allowing rumor to narrate the day.
Natalie said their first marriage began under coercion and secrecy. The second ceremony did not erase those facts; it marked the freedom to choose after confronting them.
Sebastian confirmed that Stephanie’s recovered investment would fund patient advocacy, helping families challenge medical denials based on status or technical exclusion.
When asked whether Natalie was now a billionaire, she answered that marriage did not replace her career, education, or name. Sebastian added that anyone reducing his wife to his balance sheet had failed to understand the story.
The reception took place in the church garden. Food came from local restaurants, music from Sarah’s carefully chaotic playlist, and decorations from volunteers supported by Stephanie’s foundation.
George approached only after Natalie invited him. He wished them happiness and gave her the childhood photograph recovered from the mansion.
Cassie left before the reception, honoring her promise not to make the day about rehabilitation. Natalie later found a short note with the investment certificate: *I cannot undo the trade I made at your first wedding. I am glad you turned it into a choice.*
As evening settled, Sebastian asked Natalie whether she regretted refusing the enormous ballroom Daniel originally reserved.
“Not once.” She rested her head against him. “Do you?”
Before he answered, Daniel interrupted with urgent news from the hospital: Natalie’s mother’s latest tests had returned. The physician wanted the family to come immediately, and the joy of the wedding tightened into fear before the final song ended.
