The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband – Episode 57

Daniel’s car entered traffic behind a collision that blocked the fastest route to the church. Police redirected vehicles toward streets already crowded with weekend events. Sebastian checked the time: twelve twenty-two.

He could request an escort through business contacts, but using influence to turn a wedding deadline into someone else’s inconvenience violated the very promise he meant to make.

“I’m walking,” he said, leaving the car three miles from the church.

Daniel followed for half a block before Sebastian ordered him back to manage the legal announcement. “If I can’t reach my own wedding without an operation, I haven’t learned much.”

At twelve thirty, Sarah asked Natalie whether she wanted to delay the limit. Guests whispered, and reporters outside began speculating that the billionaire groom had abandoned a second ceremony.

Natalie refused to move the deadline. Trust required boundaries capable of surviving discomfort. Still, she held Sebastian’s message confirming the ruling and knew he was trying.

Her mother asked what she would do at one. “Change clothes, eat the cake, and decide tomorrow whether I’m furious or heartbroken.”

“Good,” her mother said. “A wedding is important. It is not the only day your love exists.”

Sebastian ran through the city in formal shoes, shedding his jacket when heat and distance made dignity impractical. Pedestrians recognized Bash Myers from the news, and several recorded him crossing intersections on foot.

Online speculation changed from abandonment to pursuit. B.M. employees shared the church address, creating a growing crowd Sebastian had never authorized.

At twelve forty-eight, he reached the final avenue and found it closed for construction. The church tower stood two blocks away.

He called Natalie rather than offering a false promise. “I can see the church. I may still be late.”

“Twelve minutes,” she said. Her voice trembled, but the rule remained.

Sebastian crossed through a public park, ruined one shoe in wet grass, and reached the church steps at twelve fifty-eight. Reporters surged toward him.

He stopped long enough to state that the court rejected the injunction and Stephanie’s foundation would proceed. Then he refused every personal question and entered.

The sanctuary doors opened as Natalie prepared to remove her veil. Sebastian stood there without a jacket, one shoe muddy, breathing as though he had outrun every polished version of himself.

“Two minutes,” Daniel announced from the back, having arrived by another route.

Laughter moved through the guests, releasing the strain. Natalie looked at Sebastian and saw no grand entrance, only a man who had told the truth about being delayed and still fought to arrive.

He approached but did not take her hand. “The deadline was yours. If arriving is not enough, I understand.”

Natalie glanced at the clock as the minute hand reached one. “You made it before the answer,” she said. Then she turned toward the minister, leaving Sebastian uncertain whether the answer would complete the wedding or end it at the altar.
