The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband – Episode 36

Cassie remained across the street as Daniel caught up with Sebastian. Traffic muted their words, but body language required no sound. The CEO of B.M. Enterprises waited for Sebastian to finish speaking, nodded at each instruction, and called him boss a second time before entering the car.

The hierarchy was unmistakable. Daniel Walter, whose photograph appeared in business magazines, behaved like an employee before the man Cassie had rejected as a penniless criminal. Sebastian never raised his voice, yet Daniel’s attention remained fixed on him until permission to leave was clear. No ordinary friendship produced that kind of deference.

She raised her phone and recorded the final exchange. Sebastian mentioned Serena’s dismissal, Kyle’s weakness, and Friday’s company event. He told Daniel he would attend with Natalie and reveal the truth there.

Cassie’s pulse quickened. The trust fund had never explained the penthouse, the hospital payment, or Natalie’s sudden B.M. position. A larger identity did.

Sebastian thanked Daniel for helping complete a plan that had taken years. Cassie zoomed closer, but a delivery truck crossed her view. When the street cleared, Sebastian and Daniel had separated.

She followed Daniel’s car with her eyes, then searched the internet for B.M.’s ownership structure. Public records ended behind holding companies and sealed private investments. Every article repeated the same name: Bash Myers, the invisible founder no journalist had successfully photographed.

Cassie whispered both names aloud. Sebastian Klein. Bash Myers. The initials aligned with B.M., though coincidence alone proved nothing.

Her investigator arrived and handed her the hospital trace. The account listed George Quinn as the payer, but the money originated from an account controlled by Daniel Walter. The transfer had been routed carefully enough to conceal its source from ordinary billing staff, suggesting someone expected questions later. Cassie stared at the report. Two mysteries had become one.

Daniel paid Natalie’s mother because Sebastian ordered it. B.M. hired Natalie because Sebastian controlled it. The luxury residence probably belonged to him as well. Cassie felt the truth assemble with humiliating precision.

She had forced Natalie into the marriage to escape a disgraced fiancé. Instead, she had handed her half sister a billionaire whose influence reached corporate boardrooms and criminal networks.

Envy overwhelmed reason. Natalie had always been the daughter without status, the one expected to accept leftovers quietly. Cassie had built her own confidence around the belief that beauty, money, and Lauren’s protection made her the chosen daughter. Natalie’s sudden happiness challenged that entire hierarchy. She could not be allowed to possess the life Cassie believed belonged to her.

At the penthouse, Natalie changed the dressing on Sebastian’s hand where coffee had splashed him during Daniel’s reaction. The injury was minor, but the intimacy steadied them both after the chaos.

“You were calm today,” she said. “Too calm for a man interviewing for an assistant position.”

Sebastian considered confessing. Friday was only days away, yet every hour now required another lie. “I’ve handled emergencies before.”

“In prison?” The question held concern, not judgment.

He smiled without humor. “Among other places.” His past included rooms far more dangerous than a corporate office, but prison was the only history she knew.

Natalie touched his wrist. “Whatever happened before we met, you don’t have to perform for me.” She did not demand a confession or use his past to diminish him. The generosity of her trust made concealment harder to defend. Sebastian had once believed secrecy protected both of them; now it protected only his control over the timing.

Sebastian promised they would speak honestly at Friday’s event. She accepted the deadline, interpreting it as a conversation about work and their changing marriage.

Across town, Cassie returned to the Quinn mansion and locked herself in her room. She compared the video with interviews about Bash Myers, matching age, build, and the rare details reported about his connection to Daniel.

The evidence stopped short of proof, but desire supplied certainty. Now cautious of a man who could erase careers with a command, Cassie saved copies outside her phone. She forwarded the hospital trace and video to Lauren with one sentence: Natalie married the wrong man for us to underestimate.

Lauren called immediately. Cassie answered with a revelation that transformed shock into greed. “Sebastian Klein isn’t living on a trust fund. I think he owns B.M. Enterprises—and Natalie has no idea.”
