Salt Kiss – Episode 50
The adviser dragged Isolde’s father into the club beneath a concealed weapon, using him to bypass the first checkpoint. By the time security recognized the threat, both men had reached the central floor.
Tristan positioned agents around the exits while Mark kept the guests calm. Isolde insisted on entering the room despite every objection.
“He came for me,” she said. “Let me control where he looks.”
She stepped into view. The adviser turned the gun toward her father’s throat and demanded the marriage agreement, account credentials, and safe passage.
“Release him first,” Isolde said.
“You were always sentimental,” the adviser sneered. “That is why men will always use you.”
Mark moved into the open beside her. “Then use me instead.”
The offer divided the attacker’s attention exactly as Tristan needed. He advanced from the blind side, waiting for a clean angle.
Isolde’s father attempted to break free too early. The gun discharged, and chaos erupted.
Tristan struck the adviser before he could fire again. They crashed into a table, fighting for control of the weapon while agents moved the hostages away.
The adviser reached for a hidden knife. Mark intercepted the blade with his injured arm, reopening the wound that had barely healed.
Tristan disarmed the attacker and held him until agents secured the cuffs. Across the room, Isolde pressed both hands against Mark’s bleeding sleeve.
Her father survived with a minor wound. Faced with evidence of his adviser’s betrayal, he finally surrendered the remaining financial records.
The conspiracy was damaged but not fully dismantled. The adviser claimed others would continue the operation even if he went to prison.
After the club emptied, Tristan treated Mark’s arm while Isolde sat beside them. No one spoke about who had saved whom.
The silence no longer felt divided between employer, guard, and reluctant bride. Each of them had stepped into danger for the others, creating a bond that neither contract nor command could adequately define.
“We cannot keep living as three separate secrets,” Isolde said.
Mark looked at Tristan, then at the woman he was expected to marry. “Then no more secrets.” He took one hand from each of them, forming a connection none could dismiss as duty. Outside the locked room, however, the adviser’s confiscated phone began ringing from an unknown number.
