Reborn to Love Mr. Right – Episode 60

The technicians turned toward the doorway, but no woman stood there. The live image showed an empty server room when replayed. The figure with Arianna’s face existed only inside the released packet.

Facial analysis matched Arianna at thirty-two, older than every current photograph and healthier than the woman who died in the first future. This was not Iteration Four’s composite image. The video carried a biological signature recorded by Taylor medical sensors years ahead.

The older Arianna identified herself as Iteration Zero. She claimed the timeline had begun with her, not the rebirth Arianna remembered. Every later reset was an attempt to repair a decision she made before Victor built Mirror Archive.

Donald rejected the statement immediately. Arianna’s mother created the continuity safeguard before her birth; no adult version of Arianna could precede it without another temporal loop. The contradiction might be evidence of fabrication.

Hayden searched the packet metadata and found the signature of Arianna’s mother. Either she authenticated the future woman or someone copied her key. The video alone could not distinguish those possibilities.

Iteration Zero said the three conditions were decoys designed to prevent Victor from discovering the true closure sequence. The cycle would end only when Arianna destroyed both master keys and allowed every inaccessible future memory to vanish.

The demand sounded reasonable after everything the archives caused. It also required eliminating the only tools capable of verifying the packet. Arianna refused to act before independent analysis.

The older woman anticipated that answer. She revealed a childhood memory never recorded digitally: Arianna hiding beneath her mother’s piano after breaking a porcelain bird, while Hayden silently placed the pieces in his pocket.

Hayden remembered the broken bird. He had accepted blame because Arianna feared disappointing her mother. Neither family had known the truth, making the memory difficult for Victor to steal.

Arianna still questioned whether intimacy proved identity. Iteration Four had accessed buried memories and used them as persuasion. A secret could authenticate data without granting it authority.

The packet provided coordinates to a rural Taylor property abandoned before Arianna’s birth. Iteration Zero claimed the first continuity chamber remained beneath it, untouched by Victor and absent from every corporate record.

Police searched land registries and confirmed Arianna’s mother purchased the property through a personal trust. Donald remembered visiting once during construction but believed she intended it as an emergency residence.

Arianna chose to investigate without carrying either master key. Hayden supported the boundary, and federal agents secured the location first. The packet did not react to their delay.

Beneath the abandoned house, officers found a small laboratory built before Mirror Archive. Its equipment remained disconnected from power, protected by mechanical locks rather than networks.

The walls held photographs of Arianna, Hayden, Donald, and both mothers across dates spanning decades. Some depicted events that never occurred, including an adult Arianna meeting her mother.

A handwritten note explained that the laboratory received images from future branches but never sent anything backward. Victor later added transmission, believing observation without control wasted the discovery.

At the center stood a locked case shaped for both master keys. Its inscription read, “Continuity ends when the children choose a life no parent, lover, or enemy can prewrite.”

Arianna understood that destroying the keys might be correct, but Iteration Zero had still tried to command the timing. She would not turn independence into obedience merely because the instruction used her own face.

She and Hayden placed the keys in separate evidence vaults instead of the chamber. The first laboratory would remain under court control while experts studied it without activating anything.

As they left, one powerless monitor illuminated behind them. Iteration Zero appeared again, this time with blood on her wedding dress. “Keep the keys,” she said. “But when Hayden remembers what he did to me, you will beg for another reset.”
