My Alpha Boss Gave Me Triplets – Episode 73

Hope’s blood contained an unusual sensitivity to wards, neither illness nor curse. Lara believed all three children might inherit some degree of it, but Hope’s premature stress made the pattern easier to detect.

The old records called children like her listeners. They could recognize magical structures the way an architect recognized load-bearing walls. The ability did not make Hope a weapon, oracle, or future leader.

Evie ordered the result sealed. She had watched adults turn every difference into a claim of destiny. Her daughter would not spend infancy becoming an answer to questions other people invented.

Leopold agreed, then proposed voluntary monitoring under Lara. Evie accepted only after the protocol stated that research would stop the moment the child could express refusal.

The council learned only that no curse marked the triplets. Celebration spread through Stonehearth territory, but Evie prohibited crowds, ceremonial gunfire, and the traditional three-night vigil outside the Alpha residence.

Instead, the pack organized blood donations to replace the supply used during Evie’s surgery. Human hospitals received most of what they collected. The gesture honored survival without worshipping the children.

Darleen’s criminal hearing resumed the same day. Her exile had removed political protection, while Francesca’s cooperation connected forged records, sedatives, and payments to Darleen’s direct instructions.

Darleen pleaded guilty to several charges in exchange for a sentence that included secure supernatural treatment. The court did not accept her attempt to describe the crimes as a romantic dispute.

The judge named Evie, the babies, Joel, manipulated employees, and both packs as separate victims of deliberate acts. Obsession explained motive; it did not reduce harm.

Evie declined to deliver another impact statement. Her earlier testimony remained in the record, and motherhood did not obligate her to reopen every wound for a satisfying courtroom ending.

Leopold attended remotely from the next room. Darleen asked to address him before sentencing, claiming she deserved one last private truth.

He refused privacy but allowed her to speak on the record.

Darleen said she had loved him longer than Evie had known his name. Leopold answered that duration did not transform entitlement into love. She had wanted the life around him, then punished everyone who proved he could choose differently.

The sentence combined imprisonment, restitution, magical restrictions, and permanent enforcement of exile after release. Darleen would receive medical care but never again control a pack ward.

Alpha Blackhart did not appear. His successor publicly accepted the ruling and transferred the first restitution payment to the retreat.

When the hearing ended, Leopold returned to Evie without asking whether she felt victorious. She was feeding Mira while Rowan slept against her other side and Hope made impatient noises from a bassinet.

ā€œIt is over for her,ā€ he said.

Evie looked at the three children. ā€œThen we stop building our days around what she might do.ā€

That night, Leopold dismissed half the emergency guards and reopened the residence grounds. Protection remained, but the household no longer moved as if an attack were inevitable.

At dawn, Edna Florentine arrived at the outer gate carrying a legal petition for grandparent visitation.
