Ms. CEO’s Baby Daddy Is the Merchant of Death – Episode 58
Police found Lynn hiding in a Whitmore vacation property under a false name. She demanded immunity before discussing the medical supply point. Scarlett agreed only to hear her offer.
Danielle attended the interview against her mother’s wishes. Years of defending Lynn had left her facing charges, public disgrace, and the knowledge that Summer nearly died for a lie. Her loyalty had begun to fracture.
Lynn claimed Stephen planned Evelyn’s death alone. Investigators played her recorded negotiation from the safe-deposit box. Her own voice described the sedative and route.
She changed her story. Vale, she said, threatened Danielle and forced cooperation. Payment records showed Lynn negotiating higher compensation before Danielle was ever mentioned.
Scarlett asked why Lynn hated a woman she intended to replace. Lynn answered that Evelyn possessed wealth, respect, and a daughter who would inherit both. Envy had made cruelty feel like justice.
Danielle stared at her mother as if seeing a stranger. Lynn had always said Scarlett’s family stole the life they deserved. The recordings proved Lynn had stolen it first.
The medical certificate controlled a submerged resupply platform. Vale needed it to stabilize Evelyn’s treatment and refuel the submarine. Without the certificate, the platform would destroy its stored compounds.
Lynn refused to surrender the access phrase unless Danielle received immunity. Danielle interrupted and gave investigators the phrase herself. She had heard Lynn repeat it for years without understanding its meaning.
Her decision ended the bargain. Lynn called her ungrateful and warned that Scarlett would never accept her. Danielle said she was not helping to earn Scarlett’s love.
Scarlett made no promise of forgiveness. She acknowledged that Danielle had finally chosen not to repeat their mother’s crime. The distinction was enough for that moment.
The certificate opened the platform’s manifest. Vale had scheduled resupply in fourteen hours. Cypher hid the access from Lighthouse so the submarine would believe the site remained safe.
Lynn attempted one final manipulation. She told Scarlett that Evelyn had willingly abandoned her after surviving. Scarlett asked why a willing woman needed restraints, sedation, and coded messages.
Unable to answer, Lynn accused Connor of bringing greater danger into Scarlett’s life. Scarlett replied that Connor had learned to stand beside her choices, while Lynn had spent twelve years erasing them.
Police charged Lynn with conspiracy, kidnapping, fraud, and attempted murder. Danielle watched her mother leave without following. The separation looked less like reconciliation than the beginning of responsibility.
Stephen requested permission to testify against Lynn. Scarlett allowed investigators to decide. Her parents’ punishment no longer required her personal management.
Connor met Scarlett outside the interview room. He asked whether she wanted silence, comfort, or strategy. She chose all three in that order.
They stood together until anger stopped controlling her breath. Then Scarlett reviewed the platform map. Evelyn was within reach, and grief could wait beside action without driving it.
Richard moved Summer’s security team farther from any Constellation hardware. He explained every change to her. She approved only after confirming the watch could still call both parents.
Vale’s submarine altered course toward the resupply platform. The task force concealed ships beyond the horizon. Connor and Scarlett boarded the interception vessel together.
As night fell, Evelyn’s biometric signal appeared beneath the water. Scarlett heard her mother’s heartbeat through the monitor for the first time in twelve years.
