I Have Five Kick-Ass Brothers – Episode 45
Coco’s claim reopened the fact everyone considered settled. Two independent tests had since confirmed Raina belonged to the Lincolns and Coco to the Smiths, but Zoey’s presence raised a different question: who ordered the first test and why did the truth emerge at that exact moment?
Mrs. Smith remembered receiving an anonymous message recommending the clinic. She suspected Raina was not her biological daughter only after old blood-type records surfaced in the same envelope. Zoey then appeared as a patient liaison and accelerated the testing.
The blood records were genuine. Someone with access to Walter’s archive had deliberately exposed the switch after concealing it for twenty years. The revelation had not been an accident or a family discovery; it had been timed.
Raina asked what changed shortly before the test. Jeffrey recalled Smith Group entering partnership talks with Jones Group. Theo’s search for his childhood savior had also narrowed toward the Smith household.
Revealing Coco as the biological Smith daughter diverted Theo toward the wrong woman while forcing Raina out of the mansion. The timing benefited anyone who wanted both heiresses emotionally isolated and easy to manipulate.
Walter had motive, but records showed he was hiding overseas when the test occurred. Melody wanted Raina inside the Lincoln family, and Zoey’s work supported that goal. Yet neither explanation accounted for why Theo’s search mattered.
Theo reviewed the original Jones investigation. An anonymous source had identified the Smith daughter as his savior one day before the DNA report. The source used the same five-circle crest later found in Owen’s messages.
Someone had orchestrated both discoveries, expecting Theo to choose Coco and the Lincolns to test Raina. The plan relied on predictable reactions from every family. Only Raina’s acceptance of her supposedly poor relatives disrupted it.
Luke mapped the conspirators’ communications. Zoey connected Melody, Owen, and the reputation firm, but one encrypted account sat above all three, issuing dates without detailed instructions. Its owner used the name Architect.
The Architect had not appeared in earlier correspondence with Walter or Carlisle. The account became active only when Theo began searching seriously for his savior. Its goal seemed less connected to the original switch than to controlling its discovery.
Investigators traced Zoey to a rented office near the Jones family archives. She escaped minutes before they arrived, leaving behind a wall covered with timelines of Raina, Coco, Theo, and the five brothers.
Red lines connected the DNA test, the proposal to Coco, Raina’s food stand, and Theo’s discovery of the scar. Notes predicted likely emotional responses beside each event. Raina felt sick seeing her grief reduced to strategic probability.
One prediction was circled: “Raina rejects wealth test and leaves both families.” The plan expected her to walk away after learning the Lincolns had deceived her. Instead, she demanded honesty and eventually returned.
Another line predicted Theo would abandon his search if Coco discredited Raina. His decision to know Raina as a person rather than a debt had broken that outcome too.
The Architect had designed a story in which every character behaved at their worst. The scheme failed whenever someone chose trust, accountability, or restraint instead.
Raina asked whether the Architect might be someone studying the families rather than directly knowing them. Theo pointed to private details on the wall that had never appeared in public records. The person had access from inside both households.
Zoey’s abandoned computer contained one unencrypted calendar invitation. It scheduled a meeting with the Architect at the community center that evening, using Evan’s stolen identity as the reservation name.
Police prepared surveillance while Raina stayed at the command post. She no longer needed to enter every trap to prove ownership of her story. Her role was to interpret the evidence the Architect expected her to overlook.
At the meeting time, no person appeared. Instead, the center’s projector activated and played security footage from the day Raina arrived at the Lincoln house.
The camera angle came from inside the family hallway, before any official surveillance had been installed. Someone in the Lincoln home had recorded the reunion and sent it to the Architect in real time.
