Falling for My Ex’s Mafia Dad — Episode 75

Fay refused to close the clinic construction site. Doing so would alert Lorenzo that the calendar survived. Instead, Mara obtained covert authority to monitor the maternity wing while workers were quietly sent home.

Victoria believed *Final Consent* referred to a ritual Lorenzo used for disputed alliances. He forced signatures before witnesses, then treated resistance as family betrayal punishable by violence.

The maternity wing contained no furniture beyond unopened equipment. Investigators placed cameras inside ventilation ducts and marked every entrance with silent sensors.

Fay would not attend physically. Pregnancy did not make her incapable, but standing inside a planned coercion ceremony offered no investigative value. She monitored from the clinic’s secure office with Daniel.

At midnight, Lorenzo entered with two captains, his attorney, and a representative from the Kozlov syndicate. Ivan remained in protective detention and knew nothing about the representative.

They arranged contracts on a portable table. Audio revealed an agreement transferring Alden port control to the Kozlov organization in exchange for removing Kent and securing guardianship of Fay’s child.

The syndicate representative asked whether Fay had consented. Lorenzo said daughters inherited duty with blood. The sentence destroyed any remaining ambiguity about his intentions.

State officers prepared to intervene, but Mara waited for the attorney to activate the cloned credential device. Catching possession mattered more than hearing conspiracy alone.

The attorney opened a metal case. Inside lay the device, Grant’s missing files, and the original Lippert ledger. Lorenzo had gathered every instrument of the frame in one place.

Before officers moved, the Kozlov representative drew a gun. He accused Lorenzo of offering control he no longer possessed and demanded Fay be delivered immediately.

Lorenzo’s captains responded. Gunfire shattered the unfinished walls while investigators rushed from the stairwells. Fay watched through cameras, unable to help and unwilling to look away.

The representative escaped through a construction lift with the original ledger. Lorenzo’s attorney was arrested beside the credential device. One captain died, and Lorenzo vanished into the basement.

Daniel knew the old service plans and identified a tunnel leading toward Fay’s apartment building. Lorenzo had chosen the clinic because escape brought him closer to her.

Security locked the apartment remotely. Fay moved into the building’s protected core while state police searched the tunnel.

Lorenzo emerged not inside her apartment but in the counseling floor below. He took Janeen hostage as she arrived for an early appointment.

Through the intercom, he demanded Fay exchange herself for the woman who raised her. The choice repeated every threat men had used against her empathy.

Fay opened communication but did not leave the safe room. She kept Lorenzo talking about fatherhood while Daniel guided officers through a neighboring utility shaft.

Lorenzo said Janeen stole his daughter. Fay answered that Janeen stayed through fevers, heartbreak, school applications, and every ordinary day Lorenzo considered beneath power. Parenthood was labor, not blood.

Daniel reached the counseling floor and freed Janeen after officers shot Lorenzo in the leg. Her biological father was captured alive, raging that Fay belonged to him.

As paramedics carried Lorenzo away, Fay received the court notification: Kent’s bail was denied because the stolen ledger had disappeared during an operation conducted from her clinic.
