Claimed by the Alpha I Hate โ Episode 38
By morning, the council knew Lord Klaudius was Daisy’s father. Marcus demanded her immediate removal from Blackwood territory, and fear spread faster than any official announcement.
Mila used the panic with practiced skill. In the dining hall, she told anyone listening that Daisy had invited vampires into Eastwind and enchanted Nolan through a false mate bond.
Daisy entered before Mila finished. Conversation died around them.
“If I could enchant Alphas,” Daisy said, “Scott might have developed courage.” Several wolves failed to hide their laughter.
Mila’s face tightened. “At least Scott was a real wolf. Nolan will see what you are once your father attacks us.”
“Nolan already knows what I am.” Daisy refused to let Mila define the revelation as shame. “The question is why you’re so eager for another man to choose you over me.”
The accusation exposed a pattern everyone recognized. Mila had attached herself to Scott’s rising title and now sought Nolan’s attention after Scott fled.
Nolan entered with Elias. Mila immediately softened her voice and claimed she had only been reassuring frightened pack members.
“By accusing my mate of treason?” Nolan asked. His rejection was colder than the one she received in the classroom.
Mila stepped closer. “I’m trying to protect you. A full-blooded wolf understands what an Alpha needs.”
She touched his arm. Nolan removed her hand with visible disgust.
“What this Alpha needs is loyalty,” he said. “You remained beside Scott while Eastwind weakened, then stayed behind when he ran. Don’t lecture anyone about protecting a pack.”
Mila’s humiliation burned across her face. Daisy expected satisfaction but felt only unease. Cornered people often searched for more dangerous allies.
Nolan announced that spreading claims of treason without evidence would be punished. He did not require anyone to trust Daisy blindly; he required them to judge actions rather than blood.
After the hall emptied, Daisy asked whether public defense would deepen the council’s opposition. Nolan shrugged as if political cost were irrelevant.
“You told me not to hide you,” he said. “I listened.”
Daisy kissed him before caution could intervene. The gesture was brief but public enough for the last departing wolves to see.
Nolan looked surprised, then pleased. “Was that political support?”
“Don’t ruin it.” Daisy walked away before he could pull her back, carrying a confidence Eastwind had never allowed her.
Behind a side door, Mila watched the exchange. If Blackwood no longer had a place for her, Lord Klaudius’s messenger might.
