My Alpha Boss Gave Me Triplets – Episode 50

The first contraction tightened across Evie’s abdomen before Darleen hit the library floor. The second came less than two minutes later. Doctor Lara called for emergency transport and ordered the neutral compound cleared of every magical object.

“It is too early,” Evie said. “Then we treat the cause before your body decides otherwise,” Lara answered, administering medication to slow labor while monitoring three separate heart rates. The smallest remained unstable after the ritual stone broke.

At Blackhart estate, Leopold heard the alarm through the secure line. Every instinct demanded that he leave immediately. His wolf interpreted distance as failure and the contractions as a command to reach Evie physically. Darleen lay weakened, the ritual book remained open, and the marks inside the triplets were not yet removed. Leaving now might comfort Evie for minutes while allowing the magical cause to continue endangering all four lives.

Evie understood the choice before he spoke. “Finish it. Bring back the book and the stones.”

“I should be with you.”

“You are helping me from there.” Her breath caught as another contraction began. “Trust Lara. Trust me.”

Leopold stayed. The decision did not place duty above Evie; it honored the action she had chosen while medical professionals protected her body.

Max secured Darleen in silver restraints layered with human locking mechanisms. Blackhart guards surrounded the estate but hesitated to attack while live cameras transmitted their heir’s crimes and defeated challenge.

Joel found the removal ritual. It required burning the stolen anchors while both parents named a voluntary memory stronger than the witch’s imposed signature. The memories could not be ceremonial promises or moments shaped by the curse; they had to reflect choices neither power nor fear required. The flames had to be kindled with no Blackhart magic, and each parent needed to speak without prompting from the other.

Human officers built an ordinary fire in a metal evidence tray using paper from their evidence kits and a plain emergency match. Cameras recorded the chain of custody while Joel remained several steps away, preventing him from secretly altering the rite. Leopold placed the first stone inside and remembered Evie returning his twenty thousand dollars when keeping it would have solved her immediate problems.

“She chose independence when I expected greed,” he said. The stone cracked, releasing clear light instead of smoke.

From the medical transport, Evie named the moment Leopold carried her suitcase back into the mansion and accepted conditions he had not written. “He chose to ask after teaching me to expect orders.”

The second carved ritual stone dissolved completely. Her contractions slowed from two minutes apart to four, but the smallest heartbeat continued to struggle. Lara explained that magical relief did not erase the sedative, stress, and physical trauma already endured. Evie focused on measured breathing while nurses prepared blood, neonatal equipment, and separate teams for three babies in case the medication failed.

The final broken stone required a shared voluntary memory. They chose the ultrasound when Leopold asked permission before touching her and heard all three heartbeats for the first time.

Distance separated them, and static interrupted the secure line. Evie repeated the memory until Leopold heard every word. She recalled his hand stopping in the air, the surprise when he asked permission, and the warmth that moved through her only after she agreed. Leopold remembered that consent had changed the sound from a medical fact into the first moment they listened as parents. Together they described three rhythms, one racing, one steady, one finding the others.

The broken stone released a sharp pulse. Darleen screamed as the mark beneath her sleeve split open, severing her access to the triplets.

Inside the ambulance, the smallest heartbeat strengthened. Lara confirmed the contractions were slowing but not stopping. Evie needed a specialized hospital prepared for premature werewolf triplets in a human mother.

Blackhart controlled the nearest pack clinic, where Darleen’s influence could reach staff and records. Stonehearth’s facility had wolf neonatal specialists but lacked equipment for a human emergency delivery involving three premature children. The only suitable option was a regional medical center whose administrators had already received the forged coercion records. Choosing it meant trusting the same system Darleen had manipulated while demanding safeguards it had previously failed to provide.

Evie’s attorney contacted the center with the new evidence and obtained written confirmation that Evie controlled every decision. The false complaint was flagged as fraudulent, Darleen and Cristin were removed from all authorization lists, and only Lara could coordinate pack-specific care. Evie named Leopold as a support person without granting him medical authority over her. Human law, once manipulated against her, now created the clearest protection for her consent while allowing the children’s wolf physiology to be treated.

Leopold left Blackhart estate with the ritual book and stones in police custody. Darleen remained restrained under joint council and human guard, but her final expression held satisfaction rather than defeat.

“The marks are gone,” Joel warned as they drove. “The curse is not. Breaking a stolen connection can force the true bond to complete itself during birth.”

Leopold finally reached the medical center as Evie was moved toward emergency surgery. Through the bond he felt three heartbeats and one exhausted human heart. The doors closed between them while Lara announced that if labor continued, the triplets would be born that night.
