Ms. CEO’s Baby Daddy Is the Merchant of Death – Episode 66

Evelyn opened Dawn’s original architecture inside Asterion’s isolated laboratory. The protocol could permanently remove autonomous attack permissions from every Aegis-derived system. Vale feared it because the change could not be reversed.

When Evelyn designed it, Scarlett was the only intended heir. Captivity prevented her from updating the succession after Summer’s birth. Aegis automatically transferred the future authorization through Evelyn’s bloodline.

Summer could activate Dawn only after adulthood and informed consent. Vale’s extraction of her biological data threatened to imitate that future approval now. Lighthouse wanted the key before she could choose.

Scarlett refused to preserve any hereditary control. A child should inherit love, history, and opportunity, not responsibility for the world’s weapons. Connor agreed without hesitation.

Richard noted that surrendering the family credential also meant losing patents worth billions. Connor asked whether he intended to object. Richard said he was only ensuring everyone understood the choice.

Evelyn proposed dividing Summer’s authority among Constellation’s public nodes. Thousands of hospitals, rescue agencies, courts, and civilian networks would need to consent together. No individual bloodline could activate Dawn again.

Cypher warned that the change itself required Summer’s current biological signature. Scarlett rejected any involuntary collection. They would ask her in language she could understand and accept a refusal.

Summer listened as Evelyn explained that a tiny part of the system mistakenly belonged to her. She could keep it until she grew up or help give it to many people now. Neither answer would disappoint them.

She asked whether giving it away meant bad machines could stop choosing whom to hurt. Evelyn said Dawn would help, but adults still had to make laws and keep promises. Technology could not finish kindness for them.

Summer agreed on one condition: her fingerprint would not become another secret. The transfer and its limits had to be public. Scarlett recognized her mother’s principles in the child.

Independent advocates witnessed the authorization. Summer pressed one finger to an offline reader while Connor held her other hand. The device destroyed the raw biometric sample after creating a consent token.

The token divided into thousands of encrypted shares. Each public institution received one vote and no institution could reconstruct Summer’s identity. Her inheritance became a commons.

Vale attempted to interrupt the transfer through Lighthouse. Constellation rejected his command because Evelyn’s duplicated authorization had expired after the Arctic rescue. He no longer possessed a valid founder voice.

Dawn still required acceptance from every city running Aegis-derived enforcement. Most approved immediately. Twelve governments refused, arguing that autonomous weapons remained essential to national security.

Richard suggested suspending Reed investments until they agreed. Then he stopped himself. Economic coercion would reproduce Vale’s belief that consent could be engineered through fear.

Asterion offered transparent migration technology instead. Dominion released defensive patents without licensing fees. The Reed Foundation created a fund controlled by independent auditors.

Support grew, but three governments remained opposed. Vale promised them exclusive Lighthouse protection if they rejected Dawn. Their refusal prevented global activation.

Connor asked whether Dawn could proceed around them. Evelyn said incomplete shutdown would let Vale move his systems into the holdout networks. Universal consent was the safeguard and the obstacle.

Summer returned to her paper stars while adults negotiated. She had given away the key but not become responsible for who refused it. Scarlett protected that boundary.

On a hidden channel, Vale contacted the twelve holdouts. He ordered Lighthouse to manufacture emergencies inside their cities. If consent could not be purchased, terror would make centralized control appear necessary.
