Ms. CEO’s Baby Daddy Is the Merchant of Death – Episode 51
Scarlett watched her mother’s final sentence until the screen went dark. Evelyn looked older than Scarlett remembered, but every movement felt painfully familiar. Hope arrived carrying twelve years of anger.
Cypher isolated the recording from Vale’s transmission. He found no synthetic frames, generated speech, or altered shadows. The woman on the screen had been physically present when the camera recorded her.
The timestamp came from an internal medical device rather than the video file. Its calibration history placed the recording six months after Evelyn’s official death. Vale could forge a date, but not the independent maintenance logs surrounding it.
Connor warned that authenticity did not prove Evelyn remained alive. Scarlett accepted the distinction without surrendering hope. She asked Cypher to recover everything after the visible cutoff.
A damaged audio layer continued beneath the black image. Evelyn described waking after the crash inside a private clinic with no windows. The doctors told her that Scarlett believed she was dead.
Someone had sedated Evelyn before the vehicle failed. Vale’s people removed her before emergency workers arrived and replaced the medical evidence. He claimed the extraction had saved both mother and daughter.
Evelyn soon understood that rescue was another prison. Vale demanded her help completing Aegis and threatened to expose Scarlett to the people who arranged the crash. Refusal brought isolation, drugs, and fabricated reports from home.
Scarlett paused the recording when Evelyn mentioned her seventh birthday. That was the year Stephen moved Lynn and Danielle into the Hayes mansion. Every wound from Scarlett’s childhood had begun with a coordinated lie.
Richard remembered a private clinic Vale financed through the original Reed Foundation. It closed shortly after the laboratory explosion. He had never examined its patient records.
Connor did not accuse him. Richard’s face already showed that each old compromise had become a weapon in Vale’s hands. They sent the clinic files to investigators.
The recording named a later project called Lighthouse. Evelyn said Vale believed Aegis could do more than guide machines. He wanted it to predict people before they became threats.
Her explanation broke into interference. A door opened beyond the camera, and Evelyn looked toward someone outside the frame. She whispered that Elias had found her again.
The restored file ended there. Scarlett pressed her palm against the frozen image. She had spent years mourning a mother who might have spent those same years trying to return.
Connor asked what she needed. Scarlett told him not to promise an outcome he could not control. She needed him to help her find the truth without turning grief into another private war.
He agreed and notified the international team investigating Vanguard. The underground laboratory became an official crime scene. No one would erase evidence in the name of protecting a family.
Summer entered after Lily explained only that they had found a message from Grandma Evelyn. She asked whether dead people could send new videos. Scarlett said they were still learning what had happened.
Summer placed one cardboard star beside Evelyn’s face on the screen. She said missing family still belonged in the constellation. Scarlett held her daughter and allowed herself to cry.
Cypher discovered that the laboratory had transmitted moments before authorities arrived. The destination moved between maritime satellites, preventing an immediate location. Someone was still using Evelyn’s credentials.
A new message appeared on Scarlett’s private account. It contained a photograph of Vale standing beside Evelyn, who held that morning’s newspaper. Her eyes were open, and one hand rested against the date.
Vale wrote a single sentence beneath the image. If Scarlett wanted her mother to survive death a second time, she would give him the system Evelyn had created to defeat him.、
